I recently purchaced a 67 olympique and plan on restoring in time for next season. I haven't started disassembly just yet, but I'm curious to know how to separate the track drive shaft from the chain case or remove/install the chain. There must be a gear on the shaft for the chain of course and I would assume you would have to remove this before sliding out the shaft. Since the case is welded together, I was confused about how it's put together. Also how would you put a drive chain in with the chain case still in the sled. I can see where it would be a problem for the chain to go around the bottom sprocket then up to the top against gravity... If anyones around, thanks for responding.
